Insert Molding Simulation

With MPI/Flow3D, 3D Shapes offers the evaluation of insert molded parts. This analysis assumes the insert is rigid. With rigid inserts, the analysis will accurately determine the flow path around any inserts within the mold. Inserts can be metal or plastic, and they may have temperature conditions applied.

When inserts are not rigid, such as with electrical connectors, 3D Shapes can analyze the deflection of the insert using injection pressures determined from the analysis and apply these within MSC AFEA (Patran + MARC) structural analysis.
