Insert Molding Simulation (Including Labels)

3D Shapes offers evaluation of insert molded parts. This analysis assumes the insert is rigid. With rigid inserts, the analysis will accurately determine the flow path over any inserts within the mold. Inserts can be metal or plastic, and they may have temperature conditions applied. This can be used to evaluate the effects of flow and heat transfer effects when using in-mold labels.

When inserts are not rigid, such as with electrical connectors, the deflection of the insert can be determined using injection pressures predicted by the analysis and applied within a structural analysis package.
